Obituary

Wilson Ford, 85 of King City passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at home with his family by his side.

FUNERAL SERVICES:

A Funeral Service will be held 1pm, Monday, April 16, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Russ Ave. and King Street, King City. Burial will follow at King City District Cemetery.

Wilson best known as "Willie" was born November 5, 1926 in Hurlburt, Arkansas to William J. and Annie Ford.

Wilson lived with his family in Lundell, Arkansas. He entered the US Army at the age of 18. He returned home after serving from 1945 -1946. He met the love of his life, Lucille Mann. They were soon married and had three children. In 1956 Wilson brought his family to California. They lived in San Ardo, Sweetwater and eventually settled in King City where they have lived ever since.

Wilson was a hard working man. He always provided for his family. He worked for several different employers throughout King City in his 60 year career as a Service Station Attendant. He liked Country Music, the "Real Country" music. He enjoyed camping and fishing, especially cat fishing. He loved his time spent with family especially with his grandsons.

Wilson is survived by his wife, of 65 years, Lucille Ford of King City; daughter, Shirley Jean (Pete) DeVries of Salinas; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Ford of King City; brother, Charles (Louise) Ford of Mississippi; sister, Wilma Cheney of Arkansas; grandsons, David (Angela Gober) Ford and Justin (Kang-Yu) Ford; great grandsons, Collin David Ford and Cooper Wilson Ford and numerous nieces and nephews. Wilson is preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Ford; son Tom Ford; brother, William J. Ford, Jr. and sisters, Pauline Estes, Lucy Elizabeth Jarrett and Emogene Cissell.

The family would like to thank VNA Hospice; especially Joann Brown, for her attentive and compassionate care of our loved one.
