William J. Starling, 76 passed away, June 15, 2026 at his home in King City. He was born, January 18, 1950 in South Carolina.

He obtained his Masters and Doctorate in Education. He served in the U.S. Airforce. He was a teacher for more than 30 years, most recently at Fairview Middle School where he taught science for 7th and 8th graders. He loved gardening.

William is survived by his children, Joe Pruitt and wife Jamesa, Sean Starling, Will Starling, Jr. and wife Jenessa, Damian Hinton; and 16 grandchildren.

He made a lasting impact on so many lives through his dedication as a teacher and mentor. His greatest legacy lives on in the countless students he inspired and the children he fostered and adopted, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Though he was quiet and reserved, his kindness, consistency, and strong sense of right and wrong spoke volumes. 

He will be remembered fondly and missed greatly.
