Southern Monterey County lost a good friend August 26, 2011 when Bill Petrovic passed away.
Bill was born in King City on June 12, 1954 and was a lifetime resident of King City. He was a graduate of King City High School and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of San Francisco.
Bill loved his family and valued his relationships with friends, coworkers, and business associates. His career at the San Bernabe Vineyard spanned decades. Most recently Billy was Vice President of Vineyard Operations for the Delicato Family Vineyards. He enjoyed the many years he worked with the Indelicato family and is known and respected as an extremely knowledgeable grape grower.
You could count on Bill. Honesty, integrity, and hard work were the values by which he ran his life. When he wasn't farming or attending meetings he was outdoors. An avid bow hunter and farmer, Bill was always ready to mentor or help those interested in learning or in need.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Catherine, sons Dusan James W. and Evan Patrick W, mother Barbara of Walnut Creek, brother Mihjilo (Beverly) of Petaluma, sister Danka (Edward) of Walnut Creek, cousin Ljupka (Cliff) of Sparks, Nevada and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved canine companion, Jack. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Dusan.
There will be a memorial barbeque at the family residence September 17 beginning at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to King City Mustang Bench Booster Club, Wounded Warriors Project or The Campaign for the Preservation of Mission San Antonio de Padua.
