Lois was a farmer's wife, a country lady, a woman of many talents. She was loved and admired by all who knew her. She was a master quilter, even having one of her dust bowl era quilts displayed at the National Steinbeck Center. When she heard of a new baby on the way she would start a new quilt. She always had a garden and orchard to feed her large family fresh and preserved foods. Her canned foods, jams and jellies, inspired one of her grandsons to start his own canning and preserving business. She worked beside her farmer husband until her last child started school then she started her own career in school food service. She retired over 35 years later as Manager of the Greenfield Elementary School Cafeteria. Some of her favorite pastimes were sewing, from making prom dresses to stuffed bears for the grandbabies, working in her flower garden, and crocheting. Her hands were never idle. Her greatest love was spending time with family.
She was loved by many and she loved many, always with a smile and kind word.
The family would like to sincerely thank her care givers, and VNA Hospice for all their kindness and love.
