Tomas Camarena, 88 and long time resident of King City passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at Mee Memorial Hospital.
SERVICE INFORMATION:
A VISITATION is scheduled, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 14, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church, 504 N. Third Street, King City.
A ROSARY Service will follow at 7:00 p.m.
A FUNERAL MASS will be held, 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church followed by burial at King City District Cemetery.
Mr. Camarena came to the United States in the early 1950's. He worked in agriculture and was able to come to the United States participating in the Bracero Program. He eventually worked for Cal Compact Foods as well.
Mr. Camarena became a resident of King City in the early 1970's. He enjoyed going for walks. He loved to eat. He always said, "Food was life." He enjoyed going to the casinos and he was a very giving and caring person. He had a big heart always doing things for people.
One of his greatest joys was being a very proud grandfather and great grandfather.
Mr. Camarena is survived by his son, Gabriel Camarena; daughter, Maria Ortiz; eight grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Hermelinda Camarena and Dolores Frias.
