Theresa M. Scattini, 89, of Greenfield passed away on October 12, 2021. She was born on January 13, 1932 in King City.
Theresa grew up on the family farm in Greenfield and attended King City High School. On her birthday, January 13, 1952, she married the love of her life, Hugo Scattini. They were lovingly married for 60 years, until his death in 2012. They both lived in Germany during Hugo's military enlistment and later, they returned to Greenfield, where Theresa lived until her death.
Theresa enjoyed bowling in her youth with the Friday night bowling league. She was a member of many organizations, such as the Salinas Valley Fair Heritage Foundation, and was a devoted parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Greenfield, serving for many years on the Holy Trinity Altar Society. She also helped with many church fundraisers, especially their annual salad bar where she was known for her rum cakes. Theresa also served on the board of the Greenfield Cemetery District. She was a homemaker who was very devoted to her family and community. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. In the last few years of her life, Theresa especially enjoyed her time with her great grandniece, Isabella Griva.
Theresa is survived by her nephews, Michael J. Griva (Vickie), Jon Scattini (Mary); nieces, Catherine O'Brien (Terry), Paula Parola; great-nephews, Peter Griva, Timothy O'Brien, Joseph O'Brien (Jhina), Jeffrey Parola, Jonathan Parola (Sulem); great-nieces, Ashley Hallock, Nichole Griva, Rebecca Costello (Ryan), Rachel Pali, Ann Parola, Julie Douglas (Rich), Melissa Scrafini (David), Stephanie Gonzales (Joey), Mary Lynn Osteraa (Troy), Victoria Scattini, Jessica Scattini, Lindsay Mount (Nick); great-grandnephew Ezekiel Hallock and her great grandniece Isabella Griva.
SERVICE INFORMATION:
A Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 27 S. El Camino Real in Greenfield.
A Rosary and Mass will start at 10am on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Following the mass, Theresa will be laid to rest beside her husband Hugo in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greenfield Volunteer Fire Association, Soledad Mission, Hospice Giving Foundation in Monterey, or the charity of your choice.
