Obituary

Teresa Mary Albanese was born January 17, 1932 in Mammola, Italy, one of nine children of Nicodemo and Maria Rosa Furfaro.  She passed away April 12, 2026 in King City, California. At sixteen years of age, Teresa married Joe Albanese in Italy on August 15, 1948, and the couple came to King City in December of that year.  As a young woman she was an active person, enjoying walks with her many friends and neighbors and was a member of a bowling league when Ranch House Lanes was a center of local activity.  A member of Saint John’s Catholic Church, she was for many years active in both school and church functions.

Teresa loved to travel, she visited family in Montreal, Canada and in her beloved Italy, where ten times she returned to visit with family and friends.  She was an avid gardener who carefully maintained the many flowers, shrubs, and trees of her North San Lorenzo home.  She was also an excellent seamstress, turning out many fine articles on her sewing machine.  In her later years, Teresa enjoyed watching television, her favorites, Jeopardy, Family Feud, and Hallmark movies.  She never missed a Kansas City Chiefs game, an avid fan who knew most of the player’s names.

One of her greatest joys was being Noni to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially when cooking for her family where she offered up special Italian dishes, two favorites being her spaghetti and meatballs and authentic pizza.

Teresa will be deeply missed by her children, Jeanette Ferreira, John Albanese, and Mike Albanese, all of King City.  She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years Joe, her parents, and brothers Domenico, Girolamo, Francesco, and sister Carmelita.  She is survived by brother Alfredo and sisters Assunta, Caterina, and Victoria, all of Italy; grandsons Justine (Tiffany) Ferriera and grandchildren Lucy and Dylan of Templeton; Casey (Jessica) Ferreira and granddaughters Joni, Alana, and Gia of Atascadero; and Billy (Samantha) Grogan of Paso Robles.

The family suggests donations be made to Campaign for the Preservation of San Antonio de Padua.

Teresa will be interred in the family plot in private graveside services at King City Cemetery at a later date.
