Rosina Thelma Bianchi, a lifelong resident of King City passed away at the age of 84 on Monday, March 7, 2016 with her family by her side on the birthdate of her late husband. Rosina was born on September 9, 1931 in King City, California to Michele and Maddalena Bianchi.
Everyone knew her as Thelma. She was a graduate of King City High School where she participated in the school choir and band. She played piano for all events. Thelma received a scholarship in music to go on to college, but she instead married the love of her life, Stefano Giordano Bianchi.
Stefano and Thelma owned the King City Sausage Factory and later bought and ran the King City Scavenger business (local waste disposal company). She worked there until she retired and sold the business. She also worked briefly at Camp Roberts.
Thelma's one true love was her family and friends. Her life was about family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing the piano, playing the card game Pedro, quilting and cooking.
Thelma is survived by her daughters, Rosemarie Bianchi-Miner and Dalia Bianchi Hernandez; three grandchildren, Andrew Bianchi Hernandez, Amanda Bianca Bianchi Hernandez and Michelle Nicolette Bianchi-Miner.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Michele and Maddalena Bianchi; her husband, Stefano Giordano Bianchi; her son-in-law, Tony Hernandez and great grandson, Xander Stefano Bianchi.
SERVICE INFORMATION:
A Recitation of the Rosary and Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church, 504 N. Third Street in King City. Interment will follow in King City District Cemetery.
