On November 21, 2015 Rosie Shaffer passed away in Santa Cruz, Calif. after a lengthy illness. She was 89.

Rosie was born May 23, 1926 in San Lucas, Calif. to Angel and Susie Laguna. Rosie was the 2nd of 12 children. Rosie attended Lockwood Elementary School and King City High School. Life's journey took her to other towns, however she spend the majority of her life in King City. King City is where Rosie considered home.

Rosie worked as a waitress for the majority of her life. She loved talking with people. Rosie worked many years for Bruce and Melvina Dodson. When Bruce and Melvina opened "The Wildhorse Truck Stop", it was Rosie who helped open the café. Rosie spent her happiest years working for Wildhorse. She loved to walk and listen to country music especially when played live by The Duckworth Band. She loved sitting on her porch in King City and visiting with friends, family and neighbors.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Laura McCormack and Alice Amick her brothers; Pete Laguna, Johnny Laguna, Lawrence McCormack and Ted McCormack; grand-daughters Rosie Rosales and Hennessey Rosales and her children; Garfield "Dean" Wigginton, Bobby Lee Bailey and Sidney Lee Bailey.

Rosie is survived by her children Marvin L. Bailey of Lockwood, Dollie J. Tognetti of King City, Carla D. Wigginton of Bakersfield, Dennis C. Wigginton of Dixon and Tina M. Shaffer of Berkley, 18 Grandchildren and 12 Great-grandchildren.

Rosie is also survived by her sister and brothers, Irene (Bob) Duckworth of Priest Valley, Ben McCormack of Guadalupe, Patricia (Enar) Anderson of Anchorage, John McCormack of San Lucas and George McCormack of Madera.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE:

A Celebration of Rosie's Life will be held December 5, 2015, at the Wildhorse RV Park, 56206 Mesa Verde Road, King City CA from Noon to 3 PM. Rosie loved "Pot Lucks" so in her honor, bring your favorite dish.
