Robert Murlyn Hicks, 81 of King City passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Robert was born February 15, 1933 in Culver City, Calif. He came to King City with his family at the age of two. He attended King City grade schools and King City High School.
Most everyone called him "Bob". He was a truck driver for over 50 years. He worked for several employers throughout his career including, Roy Smith, VT Supply and Sabek Transportation. Bob was the recipient of several awards as a truck driver. One he was extremely proud of was his award for having driven over 5 million miles without an accident.
Bob's kids were very important to him. He also loved his cats. He was a coin collector. When he went to the store, he enjoyed shopping the entire store even if he was there for one item. He never saw a coin he wouldn't pick up. He was quick witted and had a dry sense of humor.
Bob is survived by his three children, Kellie Hicks, Wes (Janet) Hicks and Bryan (Chele) Hicks; grandchildren, Jennifer and Bryan; sister, Barbara Morris. He is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Margaret Hicks.
