Obituary

Richard O. Taylor, 80 of Greenfield, passed away Sunday June 10, 2012 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. He was born June 7, 1932 in Helena, Arkansas.

He moved to California with his family where he met his loving wife Phyllis in Greenfield and they were married August 16, 1952. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict as a Chief Petty Officer. He retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad after a 40 year career. He was proficient at building anything and a great car mechanic. He did wood carving and model planes and boats. He loved boating and fishing at Lake San Antonio. He was a former Scout Master of Boy scouts of America.

He is preceded in death by his parents: John & Carrie Taylor siblings: Howard, Thomas & Martha Taylor, Sue Polston and his child: Gayla Oliveira.

He is survived by his spouse: Phyllis. children: Michael Taylor (JulieAnn), Jayme McPhee and surviving son in law Jeff Oliveira. Siblings: John Taylor (Betty), Lois Polston, Lillian Carlson (Don), Ginny Taylor-Herring, Raymond Taylor (Kay), Riley Taylor, David Taylor (Chris) and Tony Taylor (Debi). 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services: A Memorial Service will be held, 11:00 am, Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Eddington Funeral Services, King City, CA
