Obituary

Richard "Rick" Lee Craker Jr. passed away peacefully in Paso Robles, Calif. on Sunday June 4, 2017. Rick was born on September 3rd, 1957 in Corry Pennsylvania, where he was raised.

Rick was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He retired an Independent Contractor.  He provided specialty wood work for more than 20 years.

Rick moved to Atascadero Calif. over 25 years ago where he met the love of his life, Dolly. She stole his heart. From the beginning they were a team, their hearts as one. A true match Soul mates for sure. They spent many happy years together providing care for mentally disabled children, traveling camping and making many great memories with their family.

Rick was an avid Sports fan and a true committed Dallas Cowboys fan. Rick loved to BBQ and spend time with his family watching sports. No matter what, he never missed a Cowboys game, no matter the day, no matter where he was.  If the Cowboys were playing he was watching.  His favorite saying' "How 'bout them Cowboys".

He was our yes man, to anyone he loved and cared for. Whatever you needed he would find a way to help.

Our "Papa Bear" had a heart of gold.  He was soft, gentle and true. He showed kindness to all those he met and knew, no matter their status. Although he was a man of few words, he touched the hearts of many.

Holidays were warm and special with "Papa Bear". He was sure to make a feast fit for a king. He was the "Chile Master", and made a homemade BBQ sauce that would knock your socks off. Our thanksgiving cook-off will never be the same. "DARK" BBQ Charred turkeys that would have the room in stitches was always the winner.

Rick is survived by Dolly the love of his life; his son's, Ric Lee Craker III, and Mitchell Kirk, his acquired daughters and many grandchildren.  Also, his parents, Richard Lee Craker and Patricia Munn Beardsley & husband Jim; siblings, sister Connie K Craker Cooper & Donald Craker; brother Douglas Scott Craker and wife, Gerene, James Michael Craker and wife, Amy and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service with military honors is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Paso Robles District Cemetery, Paso Robles, Calif.
