Reynaldo "Roy" T. Rodriguez (Papa), of King City CA passed away surrounded by his family on March 21, 2016, he was 67 years old.
Roy was born on September 29, 1948 in Robstown, Texas. He lived in King City for over 60 years. Roy was a graduate of King City High School. He was a mechanic for most of his life. He was employed with KCAC Union Carbide for over 30 years. After the plant closed he was then employed by VSE at Fort Hunter Liggett, where he worked until his retirement.
Roy enjoyed working on classic cars with his son Steven. Over the course of his life he owned many vehicles which he loved to modify and fix. His favorite car of all was his beloved 1968 plum crazy purple Dodge Charger. This car was known as the fastest Charger in King City. Roy was an avid San Francisco 49ers football fan and enjoyed watching the games on TV as well as traveling to Candlestick Park to watch them play. Roy was known as one of the best barbequers around. He enjoyed having barbecues and spending time with his family. He would sit and listen to oldies with his grandkids and talk to them for hours. Roy was a friend to all who met him. He was known as Papa to many who knew him. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Ernesto, Destiny, Leanna, Issac, Ruben, Ronald, Ryan, and Rylie. He enjoyed arguing with his son Steven, and would spend hours on the phone with him. Roy loved and cared for his wife Alice very much. She was the love of his life. Roy was a great father, husband, grandfather, and friend. He was the rock of his family and was the glue that held them together. His smile and kind spirit will forever be missed.
Roy is survived by his wife Alice, who he had been happily married to for 45 years. He is survived by his sons, Rey JR, Steven his wife Veronica, his daughters Sherry Godoy, and Lisa Magorian, and his nephews Nolberto Zuniga, Luis Lopez, and Christopher Espinoza. He had 13 grandchildren who he loved very much. He is preceded in death by his father Balerio, mother Maria, sister Alicia, niece Isabel, nephew Albert, and grandsons Ernesto and Ronald.
SERVICES:
A VISITATION will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church, 504 N. Third St. in King City.
A RECITATION OF THE ROSARY will be held 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church.
A FUNERAL MASS will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church.
Roy will be laid to rest in King City District Cemetery.
