Obituary

Reno Breschini, 91 of Soledad passed away, Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital from a severe stroke.

Reno was born in Switzerland October 1, 1921. He came to the Soledad area when he was two years old. He attended local schools and graduated from Gonzales High School in 1941. He was a straight A student. He had planned to attend Cal Berkeley to become a lawyer. However, his father passed away when he was 18 years old and he stayed home to run the family dairy.

Reno was the oldest of six children. At the age of 37 he went into the Real Estate business. He took many classes through the years at Hartnell and Cal Poly. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Swiss Club, Foresters of America, Soledad Mission Board, 60 years with the Lions Club, 15 years as a 4-H leader, member of the Salinas Valley Fair Board. Served on the grand jury for Monterey County Court systems, Past President of Monterey County Board of Realtors and a parishioner of Our Lady of Solitude Catholic Church.

He was a wonderful gentleman. He was always smiling and always happy. He had an expression, "everyday is a good day."

Reno is survived by his wife, Carol; step-sons, David and Paul LaVelle; brothers, Bruno and Milton; sisters, Clara Simonetti and Sylvia Peverini. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Elizabeth; step-sons, Edward Richardson and Don Richardson; brother, Elmer Breschini.
