Raquel Martinez, 79, of King City passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Mee Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 26, 1932 in Santa Paula, California.
Along with her family Raquel moved to Tabasco, Zacatecas, Mexico where she lived until the age of 25. She then moved to Los Angeles and lived there for several years. In the early 1970's, she moved to King City, Calif. and has living there ever since.
Raquel worked for Basic American Foods and Frudden Produce. Raquel was a member of Sociedad Guadalupana through St. John's Catholic Church. She was faithful to her religion and she enjoyed attending Mass. Raquel also enjoyed knitting and she loved spending time with her family.
Raquel is survived by her sons, Javier Martinez, Jose Luis Martinez, Ricardo Martinez, Benjamin Martinez and Gabriel Camarena; daughters, Ernestina Martinez and Anna Martinez; brothers, Santana Leandro and Teodoro Leandro; sisters, Amparo Leandro, Consuelo Leandro, Esperanza Leandro, Olivia Leandro, Martha Leandro and Guillermina Leandro; 28 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
A Visitation was held 4pm to 7pm, Thursday, April 19, 2012 followed by a Rosary Service 7pm at St. John's Catholic Church, 503 N. Third St., King City. A Funeral Mass was held 10am, Friday April 20, 2012 at St. John's Catholic Church.
