Obituary

Randy Ray Olds, a beloved Brother, Father, Grandfather "Papa" and cherished friend, passed away on February 26, 2025, in Rancho Cordova California, at the age of 68. Randy is survived by his older brother Kelly; son Jason; daughter in law Aerial; his loving grandchildren Kaylee, Emalee, Carlee, Devin, Rhylee, Melony and Fayona along with extended family and countless friends. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Clarke and Zona Olds and his Sister, Connie Crane.

Randy was born in King City, California October 10, 1956. Randy graduated from King City High School in 1976. He met his first wife, Anita Sue Mendoza through a mutual friend and married in July of 1980, and together raised his only child, Jason, born June 3, 1983 in Salinas, California.

During Randy's years in Salinas he had multiple jobs to help make ends meet. He was a dock worker for a vegetable packing plant, volunteer firefighter, and truck driver. The years in Salinas weren't easy so in 1986, with the help of his brother Kelly, he took a job as a Grocery Clerk for Raley's Superstores in Sacramento. Randy had to take an early retirement from Raley's in 2007 after a 20 year career due to health issues. Randy fought and survived a seizure disorder, prostate and melanoma cancer.

In February of 2007 Randy became a grandfather. He began his retirement back in King City living with and helping his mom. He spent the following years becoming "papa" to 8 of Aerial's nieces and nephews along the way. He was always willing to give the shirt off his back and was willing to drop everything to help family.

Randy was loved by just about everyone who knew him. He loved everyone close to him more than anyone knew. Randy loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. When Randy wasn't busy with the grandkids you could find him relaxing either listening to country music or watching a John Wayne movie.
