Ramiro Barrera Gonzalez, 68 of King City passed away on August 10, 2016 surrounded by family and those he loved dearly at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. Born July 16, 1948, Ramiro was always proud to say he was from Robstown, Texas. Home of the Cotton Pickers!
Ramiro had a tremendous work ethic and his hands showed it. He was one of the hardest working mechanics out at San Bernarbe Vineyards. He loved his job, his coworkers and couldn't complain being he had the best view from his "office" aka his work truck. After putting in 50 years of hard work he finally retired, only to become a full time grandpa.
Ramiro was capable of putting a smile on everyone's face. He had a heart of gold! He would give you the shirt off his back if that's what you needed. He was a provider for his family, he made sure they always got what they needed and could care less if he'd been wearing the same wranglers for the last 2 years. As long as his kids & beautiful wife looked like a million bucks.
Ramiro enjoyed hunting, fishing, chauffeuring his grandkids around while watching his oldest grandson Rhett run track for Hartnell, his youngest grandson Jayden play football, and his granddaughter Raylie swim like a mermaid. He enjoyed spending time at the "Final Final", gambling at the Indian Casino, watching his Dallas Cowboys, listening to Tejano music and dancing his heart out. He was a parishioner of St John's Catholic Church and a member of the knights of Columbus.
Ramiro is survived by his wife, Oralia Limas Gonzalez. They were married 49 years. He is survived by his son, Ramiro Gonzalez, Jr.; daughter, Rita K. Gonzalez; grandchildren, Alura Cortez, Rhett James Gonzalez, Holland Braga Gonzalez, Jayden Ryan Gonzalez and Raylie Ide Gonzalez; brothers and sisters, Rosario Brown Juan Gonzalez, Jr., Reynaldo Gonzalez, Criselda Gonzalez and Hector Gonzalez.
Ramiro is preceded in death by his son, Raymond Gonzalez; grandchildren, Travis Thommarson Gonzalez and Richard Allen Noyes; brothers and sisters, Lupito Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzalez and Ide Gonzalez.
