Rafaela Alvarez, 57, a longtime Salinas resident who recently moved to King City passed away suddenly at her home on Thursday, October 26, 2017.  She was born October 24, 1960 in Teocaltiche, Jalisco, Mexico and came to the United States with her family at an early age.

Rafaela attended Salinas High as a youth.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.  She loved to dance.

She was a counselor, mentor and Mom.  She worked as a counselor for Genesis House in Seaside, California.

Rafaela is survived by her children, Leticia Chavez, Ernesto Peraza, Jazmin Peraza, Cynthia Alvarez Maria Alvarez, Alma Dominguez and Yolanda Dominguez; grandchildren, Aisha, Ashley, Crystal, Stephanie, Ebony, Briana, Myriah, Ivorie, Maryjane, Eric, Jr, Zyan, Gabriel, Ernesto, Felipe, Desiree, Evelyn, Mario III, Isabella, Angel, Rafael and Micheal; great grandchildren, Lea, Ellia, Sophia and Caleb; her brothers and sisters, Jose Alvarez, Benjamin Alvarez, Antonio Alvarez, Isidro Alvarez, Maria de Jesus Alvarez and Margarita Alvarez.

SERVICE INFORMATION:

A Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2017 at St. John's Catholic Church, 504 N. Third St., King City.
A Recitation of the Rosary will be said, 7:00 p.m. October 30, 2017 at St. John's Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will be held, 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at St. John's Catholic Church
