Phillip (Phil) Milton Young, 74 of Bradley, Calif. passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. He was born June 19, 1942 in Whittier, Calif. to parents, Emmett and Emma Young.

Phil attended California High School where he enjoyed a colorful youth. His past work history included working in Formica, Auto Body work and for General Dynamics and Mobil oil where he was a roustabout in the pipeline division.

He came to San Ardo in 1973 working for Mobil Oil doing derrick work and eventually into the production division as an electrician. His work took him all over the Central Coast. In 1974 he moved to Bradley, Calif where he has lived ever since. His job took him into a Paso Robles business where he met June Pitts. They dated for several years and finally married in 1988.

Phil enjoyed working on cars and had a couple of hot rods. He enjoyed boating, camping and the outdoors. He was an avid bow and rifle hunter believing in his 2nd amendment right. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He made sure his children and grandchildren knew the proper and safe way to have and operate firearms. At the dinner table he always made sure you drank your milk . . . "Last".

He was good with his hands. He could fix just about anything. He could look at a problem and figure out a way to fix it. Phil always helped everyone. Phil was a good and kind and caring man. He gave the impression of being tough as nails but he had a soft side that was sensitive and loving. He had a heart of gold. He was the warmest and most caring man. He always showed his love for his family. He also had a soft spot for his dog and cat, Mac n Cheese. They will truly miss him. Phil's constant love and kindness for his family, friends and animals spoke louder than any flowers ever could.

Phil is survived by his wife, June Young; children, Phillip Young II (Tina), Shelley Pacheco, Felicia Garcia (Ralph), Jon Pitts (Trudi), Jodi (Mitch) Williams, Jerry Pitts (Ivy) and Jamie Pitts; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sister, Sandra Travis (John); brothers, Warren Young and Norman Young (Jane) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rod Young.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2016 in the Paso Robles District Cemetery, 41 Nacimiento Lake Road, Paso Robles, Calif. The family has also planned a gathering following the graveside. Please join them at the Hampton Inn where they will continue to Celebrate Phil's life.
