Obituary

Peggy Jeanette (Sirak) DeWitt, passed away on February 16, 2021. She put up a valiant battle with Pulmonary Hypertension. Peggy was 55 years young. She passed away at the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital with her husband and her children at her side.

Peggy studied Accounting and made her first home in Bakersfield. She moved back to King City when her father opened up his Dismantling Facility on Jolon Road where she remained until she went to work at Fort Hunter Liggett for more than 20 years.

Peggy loved her family, she had an infectious laugh, loved gardening, couldn't get enough of Disneyland and would go as often as she could. Food was an important part of her life, everybody learned quickly that you don't touch Peggy's food. She could never pass on a pickle. She loved Jack in Box's tacos, Whoppers with extra pickles, fresh fruit, and vegetables so much that she had a vegetable garden for years, and collected fruit trees and berry bushes over the years. Her latest hobby included Diamond Art and watching movies and TV.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years Gary (Bubby) DeWitt, three sons, Jake, William, and Eli, six grandchildren, her mom Sally Sirak, and siblings Annette Hernandez, Lisa Bresette, Mary Ruth Wells and Ted Sirak. Peggy was preceded in death by her father William (Bill) Stephen Sirak.
