Pauline Gallegos, age 82, passed away October 28, 2018 while battling several health issues.
Pauline was born in King City, California on January 14, 1936. She grew up in King City where she graduated high school and then began working at a local bank. She married Manuel Gallegos in February of 1959. They initially lived in Germany before returning to the US and residing in Paso Robles. She had business ventures in Atascadero, California including owning a liquor store and a t-shirt shop. She eventually retired from business in the mid 1980's.
While growing up in King City, Pauline was active in cheerleading and was also a member of a traveling softball team. She grew up enjoying sports and took several trips to watch the Dodgers in Los Angeles and the Giants in San Francisco. She followed the 49'ers for years as well. Pauline moved to the Phoenix, Arizona area in 1993 and began following Arizona sports team such as the Diamondbacks, Suns, Cardinals and enjoyed a Coyote game as well. Pauline also enjoyed several crafting activities including sewing, making clowns, colorizing old photographs and collecting rocks which she would paint to resemble animals.
Pauline is survived by her husband Manuel, who she was married to for 59 years and 9 months; son Marcos (Terri Gallegos), son Mario (Stacey Gallegos), daughter Lilia (Tom Atchison) daughter Lita. Pauline had 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Grandchildren; Miguel Gallegos (Karianne), Mando Rojas, Morgan Gallegos, Marco Rojas, Luci Atchison, Mario Gallegos Jr., Janice Gallegos, Graysen Gallegos and great grandchild Ryder Gallegos. Pauline is survived by one sister Angie Huerta and was preceded in death by brothers John Perez, Tom Perez, Crespin Perez and sister Phyllis Eddington.
Pauline enjoyed her family and was a dedicated wife to her husband and mother to her children. She was always involved in the lives and activities of her children. Anyone that knew her thought her to be a very energetic, funny, kind, sweet and giving lady. Pauline truly enjoyed helping and teaching others what she knew. Pauline was loved deeply and will be greatly missed.
