Obituary

On Wednesday, April 5th, Patricia passed away, after a short battle with cancer.

She was born and raised in a small town in British Columbia. Enjoyed it all and had many stories of growing up with two brothers, a very patient mom, and her father being the town doctor.  She and her brothers were innocently mischievous, and probably brought home every stray animal in Trail at least once. One time her brothers were playing darts, and she purposely paced back and forth in front of them just to annoy.  One of the darts proceeded to hit her in the leg, no pain, but she made sure that they got in big trouble with their father, while she sat back and laughed.

Her next chapter was to move to Vancouver and attend St Paul's Nursing school. She and her best friend Rene. It was "jail" as she called it.  Sometimes after working so hard and being hungry, they would sneak down at night, to get some hard boiled eggs. Making sure to be very quiet so they wouldn't wake up the Nuns. After graduation they were offered jobs as RNs in sunny Santa Barbara.  They left without a thought.  A few years later, Patricia moved to Las Vegas to work in the neonatal unit of Sunshine Hospital, and live on the golf course. But California called her back.  She then met her future husband Bert, or BB, and moved to King City.  Her nursing job was then changed to decorator for Kerns Carpets.

Many people say they remember Patty for her time spent helping many choose items to decorate their house. From wallpaper to carpet to which fabric to recover their furniture.  She had a decor flair that showed in her own home.  The historic Hamilton or "big red house" was well known for its interior, beautiful garden and the Christmas decorations of many years.  They also remember her laugh, that which could be heard, and spending time with Silver Kings and Queens. After an early retirement, she spent most of her time traveling the world, enjoying time with her friends, and mainly retail therapy.

Patricia wanted a small private ceremony, if any at all.  She is survived by her daughter Marybeth; brother, Al Krause; daughter-in-law, Madeline Kerns of Reno; niece, Donna Soto; nephew, Al Krause Jr and much more family.  There are also friends, family and friends that have become family. Too many to list. And now I am sure she is sitting up there, happy, with a drink in her hand, laughing away with friends and an unlimited & unrestricted QVC/HSN.
