Obituary

Ollie Pugh Jr., "Op", 97 of King City, Calif. passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.  Ollie was born in Whittier, Calif in 1925, graduated Whittier High School, a sports star.

After graduating from high school he enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17.  He served in the Mediterranean on an LST as a Store Keeper 1 st Class. When the war was over he bought himself a shiny new 46 Ford Convertible, complete with a Carson Top. It had the full front seat so he could have sweetheart, Ruth sitting right next to him.

He followed his father Ollie Pugh Sr. working for Mobil Oil. In Santa Fe Springs working his way up to Superintendent.  He married his wife, Ruth in 1948 and they would have celebrated their 74 th wedding anniversary in October of this year.  He still referred to Ruth as "His Bride".  They were quite the couple together.

They enjoyed traveling in their travel trailer to the National Parks, Yellowstone as Ruth was from Wyoming.  Sometimes going up the Oregon Coast and always going to the High Sierras in Sept. to their favorite camping spot at Silver Lake.  They both enjoyed fishing and hiking to some of the lakes and seeing all the fall colors!!!

Ollie worked in the Oil Industry on a Lease in Greenfield for the last 10 years of his working career before retiring.  He was a lifelong hunter and fisherman, and a World Class Skeet Shooter. He loved to golf and enjoyed spending time with his many friends at King City Golf Course.  His claim to fame being a Hole-In-One and his picture in the King City Rustler Newspaper.

Ollie is survived by his wife, Ruth; nephews, John Courtney, Paul Pugh, Mark Pugh and niece, Nancy Cobb; great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, February 15th, 2022, at Eddington Funeral Services Chapel.

Burial will take place at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, California.
