Obituary

Mickey Pugh passed away in Atascadero, California on September 24, 2020 after a long illness.  He was born in Phyllis, Kentucky on March 31, 1933 to Stella and Edward Pugh. He was the 4th of 14 children.  As a young man he followed his father into the coal mines, but after a year and with the encouragement of his father he enlisted in the Marine Corps.  Mickey was a military policeman and a proud veteran of the Korean War.  While stateside, recovering from an injury, he met the love of his life, Zenida (85), and the two never looked back.  They were married in 1955 and raised three children.

After returning to civilian life, Mickey did many construction related jobs and was a proud member of the Laborers Union Local 185.  He was the ultimate Jack of all trades.  Among his many loves were family, fishing and cars.

Mickey is survived by his wife, Zenida; daughter, Michele; son, Tony; daughter-in-laws, Laurie Salo and Rhonda Pugh; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 brothers and 6 sisters.  He was preceded in death by his son, Michael and his brothers, Buren, Eural, Bill, Palmer and Lowell.

Private military services will be held on October 2, 2020 in the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
