Jane began her life in The Oasis as one of Jim and Waunita Barbree's children. After graduating from King City High School and a short stint in Hawaii, she moved to San Francisco and met her husband Bill Mathein while working at the San Francisco Examiner. After a few moves and four children, they more recently worked their way back to South County, settling in Lockwood.

Jane died peacefully in her sleep, at home, with her husband of 60 years at her side. A life well lived.

Jane is attended by her husband Bill Mathein. Children: Jo Marie Carroll (Bill), Tim (Diane), Chris (Katie), and Wendy (Steve Ellis).

Grandchildren: Bethany Gil (Matt), Zane, Aly and Delaney Carroll. Rachael McLellan, Sam and Abby Mathein. Hunter and Emily Mathein, and Great Grandson Bearett Gil.

SERVICE INFORMATION:

A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Mission San Antonio de Padua, 1 Mission Creek Rd., Jolon, California
