Mary Lou Marquez 91 formerly of Gonzales passed away peacefully in her sleep in San Diego on February 23, 2021.

Mary Lou worked the packing sheds and fields of the Salinas Valley for many years. Her sons and their friends were always treated to great Mexican food and especially her homemade tortillas. She even provided food at times to the workers of Madonna Construction who built the present day 101 freeway around Gonzales.  She had a love of music, often times joining the trio in backyard parties to sing her favorite songs.
No one could leave her home without her blessing.

She is survived by her son's Daniel (Mary), Oscar (Judy), Abe,  and Rene' (Connie) Marquez. Brother Jesus and sister, Angela along with many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Special thanks to Danny and Mary for taking such wonderful care of Mom and to Trisha Noel, granddaughter, who stayed with her when she passed from one adventure to the next.
