Mary L. Borzini passed away at her home on February 14, Valentine's Day, following a brief illness.

She was 97 years old.

Mary was born on November 29, 1923 in Soledad, CA to Alfredo and Pierina Luchessa.  She was raised on the family dairy, went to grammar school in Soledad, and was a proud graduate of Gonzales High School.  Mary always spoke fondly of growing up on the ranch with her five siblings and her six cousins.  According to Mary, the school bus showed up empty and left full!

Following high school, Mary went right to work at Hambey Lumber Company.  Later in life she worked for Carl Baetschen Farmers Insurance, and she served as the Treasurer of Soledad.

In 1960, Mary married Hugo Borzini and moved to Greenfield, CA.  Together they had two boys, Marvin and Roger.  She enjoyed raising her boys, going to sporting events, taking gambling trips and socializing with friends and relatives.  She attributed her long life to adding whiskey to her coffee and a daily scoop (or two) of ice cream!

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo and Pierina, her husband Hugo, brothers Herman Luchessa and Jim Luchessa and her sisters Elsie Alciati, Lena Borzini and Jane McClean.

Mary is survived by her children Marvin(Grace) Borzini, Roger(Brandi) Borzini, grandchildren Bryson Borzini, Kambree Brown, Nicholas Borzini, Austin Short and the LeLievre clan.

The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to close friends Clara and Luz for all their help during mom's final years.

A MEMORIAL MASS  will be held 10am on Friday, April 23rd, 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Greenfield.

A Gathering will follow at the Yanks RV Park, 40399 Livingston Rd., Greenfield.
