Marie was born January 17, 1948 in Salinas California she was taken from us June 22, 2016.

Marie was known by many for her outgoing spirit and loved working with many groups throughout the valley. She was a bus driver for 30 years in the San Lucas and Greenfield School Districts. While there she was also the Regional Representative with the California Schools Employees Association (CSEA).

She loved to spend time with family, friends and her pets. She enjoyed traveling and recently returned from a family cruise to Alaska. She enjoyed being outdoors, camping and fishing were some of her favorite things to do. Marie was always busy, she volunteered for many things in the Lockwood Community. Her many hobbies included playing bingo, bunko and cards, though anyone that tasted anything she prepared would say that cooking was her best hobby.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dale; her two children, Deryl Councilman and Diane Councilman; two grandchildren, Blaine (Kelsey) Councilman and Wyatt Souza and her brother, Robert Rodrigues.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father Lucille and Eugene Rodrigues, and brother Donald Rodrigues.

Marie had requested no services, but the family will be holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lockwood Valley Community Center, 65951 Lockwood-San Lucas Road, Lockwood, California 93932.
