Marianne B. Harless, 86 of Carmel passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

Marianne Brigitte was born in Breslau, Germany on August 13, 1936. She was the middle child of Kurt and Hedwig Galgon's three children. Marianne moved to the United States to join her older sister June Lafferty in 1957- her parents and brother Manfred Galgon soon followed. They all remained extremely close their entire lives.

In 1958, she married Stan Harless and together they raised four children, Judy Piper, Danny Harless, Doreen Luke and David Harless. She was a loving and devoted mother - her love was unconditional and heartfelt.

After raising her family, Marianne acquired her Real Estate and Broker's License and worked for several years in the Pebble Beach/Monterey Peninsula area. She always joked that she enjoyed the parties and people much more than the actual work.

She loved spending time with all her children, 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  Family was the most important thing to her. She also loved her partner of 15 years Rick Schaut and her dog Muffin.

In addition to spending time with family and friends, Brigitte loved to sip on an occasional martini or glass of wine, laugh, shop, dance, and just enjoy each day.   She was an avid reader and world traveler.  Her favorite places to visit were Germany and Hawaii and most memorable experience was her time in Africa.

There are no words to express the sadness felt by her family and friends.  The amazing memories will live on forever but she will be so very missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Monterey County SPCA in her memory.

Funeral Services will be held at a later date.
