Maria Garcia Alvarado, 69 of King City passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 while visiting family in Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico. Maria was born January 19, 1947 in Sacramento, California on to Raymond Garcia and Julia Vasquez.
Maria had worked several years for Basic American Foods, Inc. before she retired. During her retirement she enjoyed shopping and taking trips to the casinos to try her luck. She cherished her time spent with her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Maria was a fantastic cook. She always made sure to have homemade flour tortillas available if you came to visit. You never went home hungry. If you were lucky you'd even get to take some of those tortillas home with you or she would make sure to send you some when she made a fresh batch.
Maria is survived by her husband, Jose C. Alvarado; her three children, Roxanne Alvarado, Jesse Alvarado and Diana Alvarado; eight grandchildren, Bryanna, Layla, Landyn, Dylan, Daniel, Anisah, Jose and Melyssa; sisters, Juanita Sevilla, Antonia Saldana, Teresa Cox, and Isabel Zuniga; brothers, Frank Garcia, Pedro Garcia, Jesse Garcia and Richard Garcia.
SERVICE INFORMATION:
A VISITATION is scheduled for Tuesday, March 29, 206 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 504 N. Third Street in King City.
A ROSARY SERVICE will be held 7:00 p.m., March 29, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church.
A FUNERAL MASS will be held, 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church.
BURIAL will take place following the Funeral Mass in King City District Cemetery.
