Obituary

Magdalena "Maggie" Diaz passed away, Monday, April 30, 2013 at Mee Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.

Maggie was born June 11, 1933 in Helper, Utah. She grew up in Oregon and graduated from Vale High School, Oregon. She worked as Lab Supervisor at Basic Vegetables for 30 years and was also a Job Steward at Basic.

Maggie was a beautiful, generous, loving lady. She was smart, funny, sassy and a damn good cook. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She attended St. John's Catholic Church and was a prior member of the Catholic Daughters. She loved to travel, loved history, cooking and caring for her family. She enjoyed going to church, going out to eat and loved to watch movies and read.

Maggie is survived by her children, Cathy Rocha of San Jose, Liz (Alex) Arce of King City, Ed (Lauri) Diaz of Salinas, Carol (Chris) Hernandez of King City, Robert (Rocio) Diaz of Morgan Hill, Ernie (Alicia) Diaz of King City; 19 grandchildren, Sonia, Matthew, Sarah, Rebecca, Mary, Diana, Samantha, Eddie, Joshua, Christopher, Greg, Cecilia, Isabella, Amanda, Jacob, James, Big E, Vivian and Autumn; 13 great grandchildren, Victoria, Isabelle, Kade, Chase, Noah, Nathaniel, Bryce, Eddie, Sarah, Adrian, Keira, Joseph and James Matthew.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Ernest Diaz in 1985, her daughter-in-law, Linda Diaz, great grandson, Enrique; brother, Joe Acevez; sisters, Connie Serratos, Rachel Campbell and Mary Thiel.

SERVICE INFORMATION:

A VISITATION was held from 5:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Eddington Funeral Services Chapel.

A ROSARY and FUNERAL MASS was held 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 3, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church in King City. Maggie was laid to rest in King City District Cemetery following the services.
