Obituary

Loyd Allen Armer, 88 of San Lucas passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at his home in San Lucas with his family by his side.  Loyd was born on November 12, 1929 in Kingston, Arkansas.

He enlisted in the US Army June 1, 1949 and received an Honorable Discharge, October 31, 1952. He served during the Korean Conflict and his tour of duty took him to Germany where he was an Engineer.

Some of his past employments included working for Burt Loomis as a welder, he was a welder in the oil fields, and he worked as a mechanic for EMCO and Meyer Tomatoes.  He also owned and operated San Lucas Tractor Repair.

Loyd loved spending time with family.  He liked to stay at home and always enjoyed it when family came to visit.  He could fix just about anything.  He loved clocks and enjoyed working on them.  He always said he didn't need to buy anything new. He always figured if it broke he could most likely fix it and make it better.  It seemed he enjoyed spending time in his shop more than being in his home.  He even put a recliner chair in so he could sit comfortably if he wanted to.

He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Armer; granddaughter, Bristy Armer; great grandson, Christian Adan Morales and step-granddaughter, Tasia Mabe and daughter-in-law, Lisa Armer.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Frieda Armer; and son, Bryan Armer.

A Graveside Service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2018 in San Lucas Cemetery.
