Louis "Louie" Torres born June 28, 1953 Passed away January 27, 2021.

Louie was born to Miguel Torres Sr. and Guadalupe Torres in Harbor Indiana.  Louie lived in Idaho and Arizona before moving to Greenfield in 1969.  He attended numerous elementary/middle/high schools as his parents followed work.

Louie ran cross country for Watsonville high school.  Louie eventually set his roots down in King City where he met Merlinda Medina. Louie and Merlinda married in 1973 and had 2 children Christina and Anthony. They settled in Bitterwater where he could be seen sitting on his front porch with his dogs when you drove by and honked. Louie found work as a Butcher working at the Fairway Market in 1979 and eventually a butcher at Safeway Grocery store where he retired in 2019.

Louie enjoyed spending time with his family and running. often taking them on vacations to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott's Berry farms and Arizona as kids.  Louie loved spending time with his children whether it was watching Christina play Softball or what he called (vacation) traveling to Los Angeles to spend the week with Anthony.  This affection was not lost when it came to any Sporting event, whether it was his nieces and nephews or his own grandchildren competing he was equally proud of every one of them.  Louie fondness of the Texas professional teams was unwavered, He Loved the Houston Astros, Houston Oiler now (Tennessee Titans). Any given day of the week depending on the season you could bet he was watching some form of sport.   Louie was a member of the UFCW union and enjoyed his job.

Louie is survived by his Wife of 46 years Merlinda, Daughter Christina/Matthew Mendez, Son Anthony Torres.  Mother Guadalupe Torres, Sisters: Linda DeShazer, Ciria/Terry Caoagan, Gloria/David, Stella/Richard Rosas, Terrie/Art Castro, Mary/Armando Vasquez, Lucy/ James Flores.  Brother's, Martin/Eleanor Torres, Rick Torres, Jesse/Teresa Torres. Grandchildren Jalen, Jonah, Julia Mendez as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Louie was preceded in death by his beloved Father Miguel Torres Sr., and Brothers Miguel Torres Jr, and Robert Torres.

Louie was an amazing Husband, dad, Uncle, Grandpa and anyone who knew Louie, knew what a private person he was. Louie would want you to send prayers to Merlinda and his Kids and his mom (Nana) His Grandchildren (Jalen Jo, Jonah, and Julia Bea) during this tough time.

A celebration of life will be held this summer.
