Obituary

Louis Albert Lopez, 75 of King City passed away at his home with his family at his side.  He was born July 24, 1950 in Austin, Texas.

Louie picked apricots with his parents as a child on Central Avenue.  As a young man he worked for the railroad.  He then went on to run the City Cafe Restaurant. This is where he spent the majority of his career.  After selling the restaurant, he went on to work for Salinas Valley State Prison from where he eventually retired.


Whether you knew him as Louie, Beto, or Uncle Louie, he was loved by everyone who met him.


Louie enjoyed cooking, catering and working around the house.  He was a parishioner of First Baptist Church.


Louie is survived by his wife, Juanita Lopez; children, Helen Lopez, Louis Lopez and Ronnie Martinez; sisters, Bertha Younell, Lisa Rangel and Julie Lopez; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.


Louie is preceded in death by his parents, Louis T. Lopez and Helen Lopez; sisters, Virginia Lopez, Margaret Lopez, and grandson, Joel Lopez.

SERVICE INFORMATION:

A Graveside Committal Service will be held, 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 19, 2025 in the King City District Cemetery. A Wake will be held at First Baptist Church, 450 King Street, King City, Calf. following the graveside service.
