IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louis George
Holaday
May 22, 1954 – February 10, 2023
Louis George Holaday, 68 of Salinas passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023. He was born and raised in Salinas California by parents, Miles and Marie Holaday.
He attended Sacred Heart School, graduated from Palma High School in 1972, Hartnell Junior College in 1974 and attended Sacramento State University.
He worked during his teenage years for his father at Arrow Lettuce Company and 30+ years at Gilroy Foods, retiring in 2022. He was a member of the local Teamsters Union and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Louis enjoyed playing his rock-n-roll music for all to hear at our family cabin in Arroyo Seco. He was an avid Bay area sports fan, attending many family reunion games cheering on the SF Giants. He also enjoyed golfing, swimming and watching a good western movie. He also was a felinophile "lover of cats".
Louis is survived by his brothers, Nate Holaday (Cindy), Mark Holaday (Karen), John Holaday (Bonnie) and sister, Julie Given (Joe), and numerous nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Louie very much.
We will be remembering Louie's simple and humble way of life by gathering at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday March 11, 2023 at the Blessed Edmond Rice Chapel, Palma High School, 919 Iverson St. in Salinas. The spreading of ashes will take place this summer at the family cabin in Arroyo Seco, Calif.
