Loretta Jean Tognetti of Palm Desert CA, passed away at her home on April 12, 2026. She was 96 years old. She was born on March 3, 1930, to Leroy and Elinor Shepherd of King City.

Loretta lived life to her fullest. She was extremely creative, constantly working on new projects such as painting buckets, pictures and arts and crafts, she had a knack for interior design and sewing and needle thread projects, leaving evidence for family and friends to enjoy for years. She was a highly organized individual.

She also loved to travel wherever the next adventure took her, she was always packed and ready to go. She also enjoyed attending live musicals and plays in the city and local community.

Loretta’s most enjoyable times were spent with her husband, her four children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George (Porky) Tognetti and her child that was deceased at birth.

In her later years, Loretta lived with her eldest daughter and her partner, where their dedication and patience was truly remarkable in providing proper and sensitive care for Loretta.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can go to King City, Knights of Columbus.

Service Information:

A Funeral Mass will be held, 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 1, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 504 N. Third St., in King City.

Loretta will be laid to rest next to her husband in the King City District Cemetery following the mass.

In celebration of Loretta's Life, the family invites you to gather with them following the services for a reception at St. John's Hall following the graveside interment.
