Lois Boyd Ledlow, 85, of Apollo Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at Eden Valley Care Center on Thursday, October 9, 2014, with her family by her side.

She was born October 28, 1928, in Knoxville, Tennessee, the sixth child of Frederick H. Boyd and Ruth Hughens Boyd. She attended school and met the love of her life, Louis A. Ledlow, in Shreveport, Louisiana. After marriage, her time was spent raising her family and assisting her husband as co-owner of their produce brokerage business. Business endeavors led them across the country where they established homes and friendships in numerous states including Florida, California, Tennessee and Virginia. She enjoyed traveling, reading, antiquing, music and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Louis A. Ledlow; her sisters, Lora Jean Phipps, Cleo Dossey, Mary Ruth Bell, and her brothers, Fred and K.D. Boyd. She is survived by her sister, Emily Cherry (Herring); her children Margaret Frudden, Brenda (Dale) Grogan, Louis (Cherisa) Ledlow, Jr., and Lynda (Hector) Gutierrez; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 am, Friday, October 17, 2014, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, Florida, Hiers-Baxley.com. Her final resting place will be at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eden Valley Care Center, 612 Main Street, Soledad, CA 93960.
