Leopold was the son of the late Aida M. De La Heria Graupera and. Charles Graupera.

Dr. Graupera was born in Havana, Cuba and emigrated with his family to the United States at the age of 13. Dr. Graupera was drafted into the U.S. armed forces in 1967 and was Honorably Discharged. He received his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1978 and practiced in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Graupera gave his life to the service of others. He was a dedicated humanitarian and served the community of King City, California for the past 17 years. He was invaluable to the community. In that time he was primarily responsible for beginning a much needed women's care facility at Mee Memorial Hospital. He served as Chief of Staff two terms and was also a hospital board member since 2010. Dr. Graupera has been described by his patients as warm and generous. His colleagues described him as sincere and giving of his time, experience and wisdom. Leopold was a wonderful father to his two children and an exceptional grandfather to his five grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and the beautiful California weather. When not at work Dr. Graupera could usually be found riding his motorcycle, playing tennis or snowboarding in Tahoe. He lived his life to fullest and will be missed dearly by friends and family. He will be forever young.

Leopold was preceded in death by his father, Charles, mother, Aida and sister, Mary. He is survived by his children, Paul and Sara; his five grandchildren, Abbi, Chloe, Isabella, Alexander and Rory; his brothers, Carlos, John and George as well as many nieces and nephews.

We will miss Leopold dearly as he was taken from us too soon. He was loved.
