Leandra Morales Resendez, 82 of King City passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital after a year of battling cancer.  She was born February 27, 1935 in Mercedes, Texas.

Leandra was a native of Mercedes, Texas where she lived for 20 years of her life until she began following the crops with her husband, Edubijen.  In 1955, they arrived at what used to be known as the California Orchard Company where they established roots and she became a homemaker caring for her family.  There she met many families who she not only considered her dear friends but her family as well.  On or about 1973 the family moved to Oasis Road where again she was surround by many families who she established long and loving relationships with.

Leandra was a thoughtful, warm, and fun-loving person who once you met her she considered you family.  During her years at the California Orchard Company she was part of the Greenfield Guadalupana Society.  She enjoyed gardening and loved her roses.  Everyone loved her cooking especially her tamales at Christmas time.  She will truly be missed by her family and all friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Edubijen "Ed" Resendez; three children, Raymond D. Resendez (Raquel) of Greenfield, Frances Moreno (Gerardo) of Moreno Valley, and Rosalinda Resendez of Sacramento; her siblings: Juan Morales of San Miguel; Catarino Morales of Lompoc; Santos Aguirre of Greenfield; and Narcisco Morales of Texas. Grandchildren; Jose Luis Resendez (Jessica); Francisco Resendez, Thomas Resendez, Benjamin Resendez (Kayla); Juan Gabriel Resendez (Lupe); Eric Moreno, Ray Resendez, Jr., Katie Rodriguez (Jeremy); Laurel Resendez-Alatorre (Nick); Carly Resendez, Luk Resendez and Michael Ledesma. Great-Grandchildren: Gabriel Resendez, Arianna Bednar-Resendez, Zeb and Kayanna Resendez, Liam, Ethan and Julian Alatorre; Jude and Alexandria Rodriguez.

Leandra was predeceased by her parents; Urbano and Concepcion Morales; her son, Juan Manuel Resendez; her sisters; Aurelia de la Cruz, Maria Luna and Sophia Vela.

A visitation at St. John's Reception Hall, 504 N. Third St. in King City is scheduled for Sunday, September 24 ^th , from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  A Recitation of the Rosary will be held, 7:00 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church.  A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., at St. John's Catholic Church on Monday, September 25 ^th .  Burial will follow in King City District Cemetery.
