Obituary

LaDonna Fern Tippery-Gallagher, 85 of King City passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side.  She was born LaDonna Vanderpool, August 30, 1931 in Hastings, Iowa (Mills County).  Her father, Robert Hildred Vanderpool, age 26, born in Hastins, Iowa and her mother, Mable Louise Buck Vanderpool, age 22.

She had one older brother, William.  Later a sister younger by four years.  Her mother died when she was four.  Her father remarried a Myrza Shook Clark who had four children, two boys and two girls.  The family lived on a farm and worked hard.  LaDonna recalls her childhood was not happy, not something she has tried to remember.  She attended high school in Castana, Iowa and graduated in 1950.

She left the farm, moved to the city and found people and a new way of life.

She met Fred Tippery in 1952.  They married and started their family. Son, Michael Eugene was born September of 1953 in Lincoln, Kansas. Daughter, Sandra Jane was born in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1955.  Son, Robert Allen was born in Oakland, California, April of 1956 and died July of 1991. Son, Danny Dean was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, October of 1959.  As you can see, the family moved around.  Son, Terry Lee was born in El Centro, California, January of 1971 and died April of 1972.  Son, Kenny Lee was born in Coalinga, California, September of 1973.

LaDonna was baptized in 1975 as on of Jehovah's Witnesses.  This kept her busy and very happy.  She loved all her children and grandchildren.  The Bible teaches Jehovah will resurrect our loved ones that we have lost in death.  They will be healthy and happy.  This Bible truth gave her hope and filled her with happiness.  She knew she would see her sons again and her loving husband.

John 14:6 said I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.

John 5:26 for just as the Father has life in himself so he granted also to the Son to have life in himself.

LaDonna's favorite scripture was Revelations 21:3,4 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people.  And God himself will be with them.  And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will morning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.  The former things have passed away."

LaDonna says that her life began with babies.  She learned Life, Love and Laughter when they came along.  She and Fred loved their children very much.  Their father worked hard to provide for them and tried to teach them how to take care of themselves.  When Fred died in June of 1985 and the family suffered a fire in 1985 their lives changed again.  LaDonna, Kenny, Sis and Kimberly moved to Greenfield California.  They bought a house in 1986.  Sandy married and moved out. Sandy moved to Monterey and Ladonna got sick so Sandy moved her next to her to be able to care for her.

LaDonna's health improved and she made a trip to Oregon to a convention and met Donald Gallagher and they soon married.  One month later, January 0f 2005, they enjoyed a trip to Jamaica with Bob and Sandy.  Donald died in September of 2008.

LaDonna knew being a Mom was much more than a title.  Jehovah God entrusts moms to train, teach discipline and love.  But, LaDonna went further.  She made her children reason in the degree of consequences for their actions.  She was always there when they mad good choices and more importantly she was there to guide them when they stumbled and reminded them to follow Jesus' example.

We all learned from Mom her intelligence, cooking and baking skills.  Mom did not feel that there should be any difference for boys or girls when it came to these skills.  Mom was always our friend, we could always talk to her about anything.  However, having five boys mom was cheated out of the girl stuff when Sandy was young.  She made up the girl time when Kimberly her granddaughter was born.  Together they loved having their girl days.

LaDonna loved raising her 6 children, growing with and teaching them good values, honesty, education and the value of hard work, sewing, planting flowers, cross stitch and teaching the bible.  She was a Jehovah's Witness.

She is survived by her children, Michael Tippery, Sandra Gregory, Robert Tippery, Danny Tippery, Terry Tippery, and Kenneth Tippery; grandchildren, Christopher Squire, Kimberly Tippery, Dwayne Tippery, Bo Smith, Christopher Smith, Daniel Smith and Tanya Haithcoat; great grandchldren, Jalen Johnson, Jennifer Squire, Victoria Squire, Landon Haithcoat, Areana Haithcoat, Brenden Smith, Damian Smith, Daniel Smith, Alex Smith, Lily Smith, Michael Smith, Layla Smith, Alan Tippery and Finnley Tippery.

A Memorial Service will be held, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 251, Oak Ave. in Greenfield.
