We are posting this obituary on behalf of the family.

Kenneth Franklin Burchard passed peacefully into the loving arms of his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ in the early morning hours on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Mee Memorial Hospital, King City, California.

Kenny was born June 30, 1934, in the original King City Hospital to Franklin T. and Clara Stone Burchard. He was the oldest son of six children, all of whom have preceded him in death: Brenda, Donald, Lois (Saunders), Darrell, and Barbara (Gonyea). He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews as well as dear neighbors and friends, knowing him as Kenny. He was a life-long resident of King City.

Throughout his high school years, he was actively involved in the Future Farmers of America when he undoubtedly nurtured his passion for farming. He was known as "a man of the soil" by those closest to him. Additionally, he was recognized as a star athlete on the KCHS track and field team by setting a school record in hurdles.

After graduating from King City High School in 1954, Kenny immediately began working full-time for the Alan Gill family and remained as a trusted employee there for nearly fifty years. He was well-respected for his expertise, dedication and arduous work ethic in virtually all aspects of agricultural production.

He was a charter member of the King City First Baptist Church and initially helped with  construction efforts in his spare time throughout the early years of the Church. He consequently served as a faithful usher there for over 25 years.

Kenny will be well remembered for his genuine kindness, generosity and love of family, friends, neighbors and others around him.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in King City on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 1:30PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
