Obituary

On Sunday, January 9, 2022 Kathleen Nunez passed on at 79 years old. Born in King City on October 05, 1942, Kathleen was the only child of Bruce and Mildred Loomis.

Kathleen met the love of her life, Frank, while working at the Jolly Kone in high school. They married a couple of years later. They had just celebrated their 58 th wedding anniversary in July. Together, they raised their family and built their businesses. First, they owned the Texaco gas station on Broadway for fifteen years. In 1988, they joined forces with Ruth Lopes in buying the local Napa Auto Parts. They spent over 30 years serving the local community from Napa and made some wonderful friends along the way. They retired from the store in 2019.

Whether it be hiking along a beach, rock hunting in the desert or gardening in her yard, Kathleen loved the great outdoors. She also loved traveling to visit her many friends and sightseeing along the way. Canada, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Tennessee, Massachusetts, and Florida were some of her destinations. In their younger years, Frank, Kathleen, the kids, and their red jeep, were part of The Family Jeepers, a local off-road travel group. They had many adventures and misadventures camping and traveling with the group. In their later years Kathleen and Frank travelled with their Red 55 Chevy to Car Shows all along the West Coast. Kathleen had an adventurous soul.

Kathleen was also a faithful member of the Jehovah's Witness Congregation. She enjoyed sharing her knowledge and beliefs with others.

Kathleen's greatest treasure was her family. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband, Frank Nunez, her daughter Tammy Nunez (Frank Padilla) and son Tim Nunez (Rachelle  Nunez), her 4 grandchildren Kelsey Padilla, Grant Padilla, Tessa Foslien (Bryce Foslien), Sean Nunez and great granddaughter McKenna Foslien.

Kathleen's life and memories were celebrated at her home with family and friends. A private burial will take place at the King City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and gifts, we ask that you donate to the American Cancer Society or South County Paws.

Arrangements were entrusted to Eddington Funeral Services, 429 Bassett St., King City, (831) 385-5400, www.EFS-Cares.com .
