Obituary

Juanita Elizabeth (Matthews) Lafferty joined her beloved husband and her son in the Kingdom of Heaven on January 24, 2012 at the age of 95.

She was born November 23, 1916 in Wheeler, TX. She married the love of her life, Grady Lafferty, on December 23, 1936 in Eagle Pass, TX. The newlyweds moved to California in 1937. There they started their family and raised 3 strapping boys.

Juanita worked as a nurse's aide at the King City Hospital beginning in 1955. When Mee Memorial Hospital was built, she continued her service there until she retired in the 1970's.
She was very active in the community and was a long standing member of the Monterey County Cowbells, the King City Riding Club and the Rodeo Swingers Square Dancing Club.

Juanita is survived by her sons, Jim (June) Lafferty and Jerry Lafferty of King City. Her daughter in law, Linda Lafferty of King City, Grandchildren, Randy Lafferty of Seaside, Tammy (Don) McAdams of Phoenix, AZ, Grady (Miranda) Lafferty of Lafayette, LA, Molly (Robert) Perry of King City, and Brandy Lafferty of Antioch, CA. along with eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 67 years, Grady Lafferty, son Jack Lafferty and grandson, Mark Lafferty.

GRAVESIDE SERVICES:

Graveside Services were held, 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2012 at King City District Cemetery.
