Mr. Juan Manuel Lomeli Garnica, 83 of San Lucas passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in Salinas with his family by his side.  He was born August 20, 1936 in Arandas, Jalisco, Mexico.

He worked all his life in agriculture starting in the early 1960's.  He worked for Frank Taylor and son for 25 years as a tractor driver eventually moving up to supervisor.  He also worked 16 years for Bill Crinklaw as a supervisor until he retired.  After retirement he continued to work part time with different companies.

He enjoyed being close to family, having a good meal and talking to them about his life, how he made his way to the Salinas Valley from Texas, working at different jobs until he landed his job that started as part time and he wouldn't leave for 25 years.  He believed in working hard, never giving up, nothing in life is free and work for what you want.  He always encouraged his children and family to get an education.

He was married to his first wife, Julia Lomeli for over 20 years until her passing in February of 1993.  After sometime, he met Francisca, who he married and they have spent the last 26 years together. He always stayed in south Monterey County, living in San Lucas for the past 40 plus years.

He is survived by his wife, Francisca; son, Miguel Lomeli and wife, Maria; grandson, Manuel Lomeli and wife Mayte; granddaughter, Melina Lomeli; great granddaughters, Andy Izabelle and Mayvis Lomeli; stepchildren, Marcelo Ramirez and wife Estela, Anselmo Ramirez and wife, Carmen, Maria Parra and husband, Manuel.

SERVICE INFORMATION:

A Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, October 24, 2019 followed by a 7pm Rosary Service at Eddington Funeral Services Chapel.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, 10am, Friday, October 25, 2019 at St. John's Catholic Church, 504 N. Third St., King City.  Burial will follow in the San Lucas Cemetery.
