Obituary

Jose De La Cruz, 87 of Greenfield passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015. Jose was born December 8, 1927 in Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

He worked in agriculture, planting, tractor and caterpillar driving. He retired at the age of 75 after 58 years in agriculture. He loved planting in his garden. It was his favorite pastime. He had vegetables and fruits. He enjoyed reading the newspaper every week. Towards the end of his day he would walk on his treadmill, then relax while listening to his records and finish his day by watching the news.

Many years ago he loved having roosters, chickens and even cows and pigs. He always enjoyed being outside. He always kept busy.
Jose had no formal education. He started working at an early age to help his family survive.

He is survived by 4 daughters, Yolanda DeLaCruz Reyes, Magdalena Patino, Josefina DeLaCruz and Sylvia Pineda; 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emily Diaz, Esmeralda and Alexis Patino, Gerardo, Clarissa and Brian Salas, Christopher, Christian Jose and Sebastian Pineda 5 great grandchildren, Ashley Lupita Espinosa, Destiny Nevaeh and Jackie Isabella Galvan, Julian Jose and Audryna Emma Lopez Diaz; 1 sister; 2 brother-in-laws and 2 sister-in-laws as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jose is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Aurelia DeLaCruz Morales.

SERVICE INFORMATION:

A VISITATION will be held, 5pm – 7pm followed by a Rosary at 7pm on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Greenfield.

A FUNERAL MASS is scheduled for 12 noon, Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

INTERMENT/BURIAL will follow at King City District Cemetery, King City, Calif.
