John K Spears passed peacefully on February 13, 2023, in Salinas, California.

He was born November 10, 1938, in Visalia, California.  He attended elementary and high school in Hanford, California and Fresno State College.  Agriculture was the center of his life.    He was active in FFA and Young Farmers, where he attended events and received accolades at the national level.  John was an active participant in his family's Double S Farms.  In the early years they raised Polled Herford cattle and later row crops in the Hanford Area.

He participated in the National Farmers Organization for several years before moving on to ranch management in the San Joaquin Valley.  He moved his family to Hames Valley in Monterey County in 1977, continuing in the field of farm management.

In his later years he and his wife Dee acquired The Art Works, in Paso Robles.  They have continuously served the Paso Robles area for more than 30 years.    During this time, he developed his own art which manifested itself in many mediums.    Custom furniture, custom kitchen remodel, pen and ink, stained glass, and custom gun stocks.

He leaves behind his loving wife Dee; children, Lori Gillett (Danny Clay), John (Joanna) Spears Jr., Sandra (Andy) Hernandez, Sarah John Afana; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

John will be laid to rest with a private family service at the San Ardo Cemetery, in San Ardo.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
