Obituary

Jason Patrick Foslien, age 56, fought a valiant 4-year battle with stage 4 cancer, despite being given 6 months to a year upon diagnosis in 2021. Jason peacefully passed in the early morning on Thursday March 20th 2025.

Jason was born on February 6, 1969 in Minneapolis Minnesota to Patrick Joel Foslien and Sharon Lea Windsor. Growing up on Medicine Lake in Minnesota he enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, 3 wheelers, motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends. Jason excelled both academically and in sports where he became an all-state football player prior to graduating from Wayzata High School in 1987. Directly following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army graduating his military training courses as the Distinguished Honor Graduate. Jason was then stationed at Fort Hunter Liggett where he met his wife of 37 years, Melissa Camany. He served 5 years as a military police officer and was deployed to Panama in 1989.  Jason was honorably discharged from the Army in December of 1991 where he started his civilian life and career at Fort Hunter Liggett. They had their first son Tyler in 1993 and went on to have twin boys, Austin and Bryce in 1995. Jason served in many different positions while assigned at Fort Hunter Liggett. Starting his career as a Police Officer, Jason moved up through the ranks to become the Director of Emergency Services, the Director of Human Resources, and ending his career in Resource Management. All in all, Jason spent 37 years at Fort Hunter Liggett.

Jason's family was his pride and joy. He enjoyed wrestling with his boys and went on the be an assistant coach at the King City High School wrestling team from 2008 to 2014, where they received numerous MTAL Championship titles. He also loved building race bikes in his living room and riding quads at the dunes with his family. He loved outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and shooting guns with his boys. Jason loved his dog Nova which he took on daily runs and she was always his co-pilot on town trips. Jason loved spending time with his grandkids and always had the biggest smile on his face when they would all come over and spend time with him. Jason was always known for his dedication, intelligence, quick wittedness, selflessness, meticulous work ethic, easy going attitude, and a strong loving family man.
