SERVICE INFORMATION:
Services will be held for Lupe at Eddington Funeral Services in King City, CA on Wed May 15 at 7:00pm. He will be buried in King City Cemetery on Thurs May 16 at 10:00am.
Lupe was born to Guadalupe and Barbara Soliz on Sept 7, 1951 in Lima, OH. He spent most early life moving back and forth between Ohio and Texas. He relocated with his family to California in May of 1965 where he attended and graduated from King City High school.
The first 17 years of Lupe's working life were spent working in the vineyards where he became a Foreman for Almaden Vineyards. After the vineyards closed, Lupe began a career in construction which he continued for the next 30+ years. Most recently, Lupe had the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream by opening a BBQ restaurant in Paso Robles, CA. Lupe's passion for BBQ was well-known by all of his family and friends for whom he would fire up the grill at any opportunity. He began to BBQ at an early age learning the secret of the grill from his Father. Where some men look for new cars or boats, Lupe was always looking for a newer, bigger and better BBQ pit. Even more than BBQ, though, family meant everything to Lupe. His most cherished times were spent with his kids and most especially his grandkids.
Lupe was studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses and was preparing to become a Jehovah's Witness. He was attending services at the Kingdom Hall in Greenfield along with his family and friends.
Lupe is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Esmeralda, his children Israel Soliz, Brenda (Michael) Syslo, Tomas (Antoinette) Soliz, and Daniel Soliz and his grandchildren Aurora, Evan, Noah and Dylan. He is also survived by his Mother, Barbara Soliz, his brothers and sisters, Ruben Soliz, Israel Soliz, Sylvia Carlin, Maria Chan, Sandra Juhl, Gilbert Soliz, and Connie Soliz.
