Gladys Jean Martella, 60, of King City passed away peacefully on August 23, 2012 surrounded by loved ones.

A Celebration of Life is planned for September 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church King City (450 King St.).

Gladys was an extremely loving and caring person. She worked as a caregiver most of her life, caring for countless numbers of individuals. Gladys was extremely dedicated to being a caregiver and took great pride in it. She was also a hairdresser earlier in her life.
Gladys enjoyed spending time with extended friends and family. She cherished the time she spent with her daughter Lisa and granddaughter Bella. She enjoyed listening to country music, getting manicures and pedicures, watching movies on Lifetime and watching soap operas religiously.

Gladys is survived by her daughter Lisa Martella, granddaughter Bella Herrera, sisters Edith York and Hazel Johnson, sister-in-law Shirley York, boyfriend Miguel (Mikey) Flores, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cena and Ray York, brothers Charles, Eugene, and Earl York and sister Mary Ward.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of choice.
