Gertrude Oweta Miller, 99 of King City passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. She was born January 9, 1918 in the state of Arkansas.
She was a parishioner of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. She and her husband Floyd founded the King City Travel Club.
Gertrude and Floyd married December 31, 1939. They were married for 49 years until Floyd's passing in 1988. They loved to celebrate their anniversary which was on New Year's Eve. Back in the day, she loved the meetings, parties and trips of the Travel Club.
Gertrude was mostly a homemaker, except for the years living at the Mee Ranch. There she worked for Mrs. Mee and they were great friends. She cherished and enjoyed her visits with family and friends. She loved cats. She would adopt the cats in the neighborhood even if they had a home. They seemed to know that a meal was waiting for them at her house.
Gertrude also celebrated her half birthday on June 23 rd that she shared with her great nephew Pete. She was truly a classy lady and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Gertrude is survived by numerous cousins; nephews, Ron Miller, Bob Miller, Jim Miller; nieces, Peggy Martella and Debbie King; numerous great nieces and nephews and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Cora Ramsey.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mee Memorial Hospital. To those of you that cared for her, she loved you very much and we thank you. Those wishing to may make donations to Mee Memorial Hospital or the charity of your choice in remembrance of her.
A Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 4pm to 7pm at Eddington Funeral Services Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held, 11am, Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Eddington Funeral Services Chapel. Burial will follow in King City District Cemetery.
